How Deal Scoring Works

To help you quickly identify the best opportunities, Pokémon Hunter calculates a dynamic Deal Score for every card published. This rating suggests how valuable a deal is.

Scoring Metrics

Our scoring algorithm evaluates the following factors:

• Profit Margin: The gap between the current eBay total cost (price + shipping) and the verified market price. Larger profit ranges yield higher scores.
• Percentage Saving: How much cheaper the card is compared to typical market value. A 30% discount gets scored higher than a 10% discount, even on lower-value cards.
• Rarity & Demand: High rarity cards (like Special Illustration Rares, Ultra Rares, etc.) are weighted with extra points since they sell faster and are more sought after.
• Competitor Position: The card must be verified as the cheapest available listing on eBay in equivalent condition to ensure it is indeed a premier deal.

Deal Classifications

Depending on the score calculated, cards are categorized into three levels:

• 🔥 HOT (Score 150+): Exceptional deals. Typically represents cards listed with 30%+ discounts, highly sought-after rarities, or substantial profit margins.
• ⭐ GOOD (Score 100-149): High value listings. Great prices compared to market averages, presenting solid collection additions or flip potential.
• 👀 WATCH (Score under 100): Steady deals. Minor savings or less common cards that are still worth keeping an eye on.
